Gîte de France
Our gîte
"ANTHOCYANE"

"Anthocyane" is the name of the pigment in the grape's skin which gives the wine it's red color.

Perched on the Bué hillside above our home and winery, this stone-built winemakers cottage is the perfect haven from which to explore the surrounding area – the majestic Loire river, the historic hill-top town of Sancerre and the Berry, our corner of France much beloved of Georges Sand who described it as "this beautiful area that one discovers by pushing aside the branches".

Renovated with taste it has all the comfort of a modern conversion without losing any of its old world charm. The air conditioning will keep you cool in summer. And the open fire will cheer your winter evenings. You can enjoy the rays of the sun from your private terrace while sipping a glass of sancerre chosen from your very own private vaulted cellar just below the gîte.

We are always happy to advise our guests on places to visit in the area. We are within very easy reach of many historical and cultural sites, including the famous cathedral city of Bourges and the less well-known but intriguingly surreal “Cathédrale Linard” - home and eccentric creation of ceramicist Jean Linard. And by bike you can also discover the delightful countryside along the river Loire from the safety of the “Loire à Vélo”cycle path that runs from Nevers 50 kilometres to the south, all the way to the Atlantic

There are several good markets a short drive away, excellent restaurants to explore and of course wines to discover and taste.

What our customers say
They liked

Congratulations for this gite equipped and decorated with taste. More surprising, a cellar available with all the good wines of the Domaine. For walking or cycling, daunting hills, viaducts, the banks of the Loire and the vineyards. Outstanding!

A very comfortable cocoon at the end of the alley, owners who are very attentive and always give good advice, local products allowing you to ideally combine liquids and solids, an enchanting setting in the middle of the vines. What more could you want for a relaxing and unforgettable holiday?
